Younis Khan and Captain Misbah ul Haq added 100 run in the fourth wicket partnership guiding Pakistan to a stable position. Misbah was out at individual score of 31 runs.

Scoring a single on a delivery of Angelo Mathews Younis made his 24th century going past the great Javed Miandad and leveling with Mohammad Yousuf. Only behind Inzaman, who leads the centuries list for Pakistan.

Sri Lanka sent back the Pakistan top order before lunch but ran into familiar resistance from Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq thereafter. The pair batted through the second session as the Galle pitch eased out following overnight rain, and the fourth-wicket stand ended after adding 100 valuable runs for Pakistan.

Pakistan has made 222 runs in the third session of the day as Younis Khan has made 116 runs and Asad Shafiq playing at 35.
