Gen Bajwa confirms death sentences of ten hardcore terrorists

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has confirmed death sentence of another ten hardcore terrorists awarded by military courts, said the Inter Services Public Relations.

The convicts were involved in a range of terrorist activities, killing of innocent civilians and soldiers, attacks on educational institutions, attacking law enforcement agencies and the armed forces of Pakistan.

They were reportedly involved in the killing of forty-one people while injuring thirty-three others. Arms and explosives were also recovered from their possession. All the convicts were tried by military courts. Besides them three other convicts have been awarded imprisonment for varying period by military courts.

These convicted terrorists include Sami-ur-Rahman s/o Gul Habib and Azeem Khan s/o Shaiber who were members of a proscribed organization and were involved the death of Major Muhammad Ihsan, nine soldiers as well as two police officials and causing injuries to thirteen others. They were also found in possession of fire-arms and explosives.

Arshad Bilal s/o Khadim Khan and Anwar Ali s/o Fazal Ghaffar were involved in attacking armed forces resulting in the death of nine soldiers and injuries to nine others. They were also involved in destruction of the Government Boys Primary School in Langer area of Swat  and were also found in possession of fire-arms and explosives.

Muhammad Aleem and Fazal Aleem s/o Abdul Rasheed were involved in attacking armed forces resulting in the death of four soldiers. They were also involved in destruction of Government Boys High School in Nangolai, Swat.

Rasool Muhammad s/o Ahmed Jan was a member of proscribed organization involved in an attack resulting in the death of four soldiers. He also abetted in the killing of a civilian Saeed Raheem as well as Assistant Sub Inspector Irshad Ali, and Head Constables Sarwar Ali Khan and Sher Ahmed.

Sohail Ahmed s/o Usman Ali was involved in killing of three civilians, Sub Inspector Mustafa Khan, a constable of police and injuries to four others. He was also found in possession of explosives and was awarded death sentence.

Naimat Ullah s/o Ahmed was involved in the death of two soldiers and injuries to four others. He was also found in possession of firearms and explosives, while Rahmat Ali s/o Noor Said involved in the death of a soldier and was also found in possession of fire-arms.
