The statement was made at the funeral prayers of Captain Qaisar, who was martyred while valiantly fighting terrorists in Tirah Valley.

The army chief paid a tribute to the martyred captain, laid a floral wreath at his grave and offered Fatiha there, said the DG ISPR Major-General Asim Salim Bajwa in his tweet.

Gen Sharif said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain and the country will be rid of terrorism menace.

On the occasion, a freshly turned-out contingent of armed forces paid gun salute to the martyred captain.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zakaullah, higher military officials, family and friends, and scores of commoners were present at the funeral.
Captain Qasim’s father while talking to media said that his son made him proud by rendering his life for the homeland.
