Khursheed slams GEO for false portrayal of ISI
ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that Geo News screened a picture of Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Zaheer-ul-Islam in Hamid Mir attack 'as if a leader of Taliban was caught', ARY News reported Wednesday.
In a session of the Parliament today in Islamabad, Shah claimed that the owners of Geo had claimed that they could form or topple a government. He added that political leadership was raged at false allegations labelled against Pakistan Army and ISI.
"Geo strongly criticized the government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for five years but we tolerated the critics for the sake of democracy", Khursheed said.
Shah claimed that Geo was once the favorite channel of Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan.
He said that the Pakistani media should adopt a policy of unity for its survival.
