Geo TV crossed journalistic limits in Hamid Mir's case, says Aitzaz
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Geo TV crossed journalistic limits in the coverage of the attack on Hamid Mir, while Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) member, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said if Geo had excused then the matter could have ended – ARY News reports.
Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said that the way the picture of DG ISI, Lieutenant General Zaheer ul Islam was aired after the attack on Hamid Mir, it was a condemnable act. He said that Geo TV crossed all the journalistic limits, during this coverage.
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) Chief, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that there is no two-opinion that a media organization aired negative content for 8 hours continuously, which was against journalistic ethics and code of conduct.
Mushahid Hussain Syed said that an issue gave rise to the fear of a clash among national institutions, while the Government also did not make any efforts to resolve the matter.
