LAHORE: Finance Minister Asad Umar on Friday said lots of good news coming for Pakistan in near future, no need to worry; the country has overcome the ‘crunch period.’

In his informal talk with journalists after conclusion of first session of the NFC meeting in Lahore, the minister said Pakistan has see-off the critical time and added citizens of Pakistan have not to worry anymore.

“Foreign investors are coming Pakistan with their investment”, he contented.

Expressing his view point on the accountability of the corrupt elements, Umar said, “Whoever looted the national exchequer will have to face accountability.”

Replying to a query regarding former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he maintained that courts will decide about the future of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo.

The finance minister said digging to find out oil and gas reserves in the sea near Karachi was underway and hoped for the ‘good news’ in this regard.

About non-presence of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, he said Sindh has shown its reservations on the National Finance Commission Award. “The people of Sindh should ask their chief executive the reason for not attending today’s meeting of the NFC”, he added.
