ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday announced four days public holiday on the religious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
In a notification issued by the Interior Ministry, the government announced public holidays from Friday, September 1 to Monday, September 4, 2017.
Eid-ul-Azha will be observed in Pakistan on Saturday September 2, 2017 as Zil-Hajj moon was sighted today in the country.
In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid ul-Azha falls on the 10th day of Zil-Hajj. Affluent Muslims who can afford, sacrifice best halal domestic animals usually a cow, but can also be a camel, goat, sheep, or ram.
