Government is committed to make Islamabad safe: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to make Islamabad a safe city, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has assigned additional responsibility to Rangers, ARY News reported.

Chairing a High-Level meeting in Islamabad on Sunday‚ Chaudhry Nisar vowed that appropriate measures will be taken for the safeguard of life and property of the people.

“The government will provide all the required funds for routinely patrolling system of police and Rangers in Islamabad”, he added.

The Minister directed for immediate purchase of patrolling vehicles besides recruitment of trained retired army personnel in police.  He also advised to train police as per standards of elite forces.

Chaudhry Nisar warned that strict action would be taken against those FIA officers, who found involved in facilitating human trafficking. He also directed convening of meeting of Board of Directors of NADRA next week to review performance of the authority.     

Nisar was informed that all staff and vehicles deputed with unauthorized personnel have been withdrawn‚ while NADRA has deployed twelve mobile registration vans for the registration of affectees in Thar.

Talking about appointment of Chairman Nadra, the Minister said it will be done by federal commission formed under constitution.
