ISLAMABAD: In the wake of strengthening national currency, government is considering to ban the import of gold in Pakistan, ARY News reported.
Earlier the government imposed the ban on the import of gold in the month of August 2013 by issuing a SRO. Later the ban was lifted allowing the import of 5000 kg of gold with the condition of exporting the same amount of gold in the form of jewelry.
But sources revealed that around 4000 kg of gold has been imported while 1000 kg of this consumed for jewelry export.
