ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said Pakistan had embarked upon a major program to expand capacity of energy sector.
“Smaller projects near grid stations are being conceived to overcome transmission challenges,” he said while talking to Chairman of Ansaldo Energia Company Giuseppe Zampini in Islamabad.
The prime minister said that the government was also actively considering replacement of low efficiency furnace oil based plants with high efficiency plants based on cheaper fuels, which would open up new avenues for companies like Ansaldo Energia to participate in the new projects.
The chairman of Ansaldo Energia said that Pakistan is offering immense opportunities in energy sector.
