ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Sunday that ceasefire announced by Taliban is a positive development and its paves the ways for peace talk, ARY News reported.
According to a statement‚ the Minister said the government and Pakistan Army have every right to take retaliatory action against militants.
He said since the government took over in June 2013‚ neither formal military operation nor any unjustified activity has been carried out.
“Any action carried out during this period was in reaction to the terrorist activities and to stop such activities”, Nisar added.
Chaudhry Nisar said that following the ceasefire announcement by Taliban‚ the Government has decided to halt the air strikes going on for the last few days.
