Government suffers shortfall of Rs.32bn in revenue collection

KARACHI: The government suffered a shortfall of Rs 32 billion in revenue collection for the month of April, ARY News reported.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) needs to collect 599 billion in the remaining two months (May-June) of 2013-14 to meet the downward revised revenue collection target of Rs 2345 billion.

According to the data revealed by FBR, they collected Rs 167 billion during April 2014 against the target of Rs 199 billion in the corresponding period of April 2013.

Provincial governments have collected Rs. 1746 during the first ten months of current fiscal year against Rs 1514 during the same duration of last fiscal year.
