Governor KP appeals Dawar, Wazir tribes not to allow anti-state elements

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Engineer Shaukatullah has appealed the Dawar and Wazir tribes of North Waziristan to perform their regional responsibilities fully – ARY News reports.

Talking to media at Governor House here, Engineer Shaukatullah said that the provincial government is keeping a watch at the situation in North Waziristan and the curfew has been lifted there to bring back the territory into normal routine.

He told that the incident that occurred in North Waziristan is a major one and measures will be taken to prevent such happenings in future.

The Governor appealed the Dawar and Wazir tribes to fulfill their responsibilities and not to allow anti-state elements reside in their territory.

Earlier on December 18, at least 5 soldiers were killed and 34 members of security forces wounded when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into a military checkpoint in North Waziristan.

Afterwards, the military had kicked off an operation against miscreants in the region by imposing curfew in the urban areas.
