Governor Sindh directs DG Rangers to tighten grip on militants
KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad called on Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhtar at Governor House on Monday, ARY News reported.
During the meeting, Major General Rizwan Akhtar gave briefing to Ishrat-ul-Ibad regarding ongoing targeted operation on Sindh and Karachi, security condition and the measures that have been taken for the safety and security of people.
Governor Sindh directed DG Rangers to ensure effective security arrangements to counter any repercussion from the actions taken against militants across the country. He also advised to make ongoing targeted operation effective so that even a single extremist can escape from the grasp of law.
Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad said that Prime Minister has formed a 'Grievance Redressal Committee' to oversight complaints regarding ongoing targeted operation, which is comprised to representation of every stakeholder adding that its first meeting will be convened on Saturday to eradicate concerns over the targeted operation.
The Governor said that elimination of crimes can only be possible with the integrated intelligence system as well as proper interaction between concern departments. He said strict steps are being taken at the federal level to prevent issuance of illegal SIMs.
Governor Sindh suggested to increase patrolling in those areas where crimes rate is high.
