LAHORE: After a video of students group beating up a man inside the premises of Punjab University, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has taken notice of the incident and sought report in this regard

The issue came to light after a series of videos went viral on the social media showing students, affiliated with a political group, thrashing a man who had reportedly come to pick up his wife from varsity.

The students group, according to reports, collared the man believing he was there to meet the girl. The incident occurred outside the varsity’s History Department.

The girl could also be heard screaming and asking students organization pupils to stop beating the man insisting he was her husband.

No reports have surfaced regarding university administration moving to take action against elements responsible for the incident.

Mr. Sarwar has asked the university’s vice chancellor to submit a report in this regard.

However, as per latest reports, the university administration has constituted a three-member committee to look into the matter and furnish its report.
