Govt 'agrees' to demand of visually impaired persons

TOP NEWS

The government agreed to provide jobs to the visually impaired people, who have been staging protest outside Punjab Assembly for two days, on ad-hoc basis.

The visually impaired persons, however, have shifted their sit-in to Model Town area until issuance of employment letters by the Punjab Government.

Earlier, Punjab Government had assured the protesting blind persons of issuing employment letters on ad-hoc basis, but the promise was not honored immediately.

The protesters gathered outside the Punjab Assembly to stage a protest but no official came for talks.

The provincial government has announced that the letters will be given to the blind persons. However, the protesters have stated that they will not end the demonstration till the letters were handed over to them.

“We hope that Punjab Government will meet our legal demands”, they said.
