KARACHI: The government of Pakistan has announced four days public holidays on account of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In a notification issued by the Interior Ministry, the government announced public holidays from Friday, (June 15) to Monday, (June 18), 2018.

Eid ul Fitr holidays

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the moon, marking the advent of Shawwal month, is likely to be sighted on the evening of June 15 (Friday), meaning that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on June 16 (Saturday) across Pakistan.

There are very thin chances of the Shawwal moon to be sighted on June 14 (Thursday), according to the Met department.

While in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the crescent was not sighted on May 15 (Thursday). Therefore, the month of Ramazan in these countries and elsewhere in the world began on the same day as in Pakistan.
