Govt criticized in NA over Lahore carnage

ISLAMABAD: The debate on firing incident in Lahore made the National Assembly proceedings lively on Thursday, as opposition lawmakers vehemently criticized the government’s handling of the incident, ARY News reported.

Leader of the Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah in his scathing speech said that the government needs support against terrorism but it has been itself involved in terrorism. “We love democracy but not the government,” he added.

PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi speaking at the floor of the lower house demanded withdrawal of the FIR registered against 3000 people after the bloody incident in Lahore.

Qureshi demanded the government to rein in the people like Rana Sanaullah.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai, veteran parliamentarian and head of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP), called for the role of Supreme Court in the probe to establish responsibility of the incident.

State Minister for water and power Abid Sher Ali and Jamshed Dasti MNA exchanged hot words but other members intervened and stopped them to engage in a scuffle.
