ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to launch ‘Naya Pakistan Youth Program’ across the country, with an aim to empower youth making them enable to take ownership of creating a sustainable future for themselves, ARY News reported.

The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting between PM Khan and Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Program Usman Dar in Islamabad today (Thursday).

During the meeting, the PM was briefed on special package prepared by the government for the youth under its upcoming program.

Mr. Khan has given the go-ahead for the new initiative and he would himself make an announcement in this regard.

Under the directives of the prime minister, a ‘Youth Plus Portal’ will also be formed. Usman Dar said no new projects were launched for years for the youth of the country.

Prime Minister Khan called upon his ministers to improve communication channels with the youth at the government level.

‘We cannot ignore the role of the youth in formation of the PTI government,” said Mr. Khan. On the occasion, Dar said the government would provide education, employment and training in various fields to youth of the country.

On October 28, Prime Minister Imran Khan had launched a public complaint cell, named Pakistan Citizens’ Portal, to hear and address problems faced by the people. The portal is connected with an app that enables citizens to send their complaints to the departments concerned.

At the time of launch, Mr Khan said Pakistanis, at home and abroad, would be able to contact the prime minister through the portal. In developed countries, policies are formulated on the basis of people’s voice and this system will give a voice to expats, he underlined.
