Gov't declines to release Taliban captives involved in serious crimes

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Government and Taliban committees, chaired by Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, is still underway at, whilst the sources have said that the Government has declined to release Taliban prisoners involved in serious offences, however it agreed upon setting free the non-combatant ones and those involved in minor crimes – ARY News reports.

According to details, Habibullah Khattak, Fawwad Hassan Fawwad, Rustam Shah Mohmand are representing the Government during the meeting, whilst Molana Sami ul Haq, Professor Ibrahim and Molana Yousuf Shah are discussing affairs on behalf of Taliban.

The meeting discussed affairs relating to the release of non-combatant inmates and time to hold second round of direct talks with Taliban shuraa.

Our sources told that the Government while refusing to free Taliban prisoners held for serious crimes, has agreed upon releasing the ones involved in minor crimes.
