Gov't demonstrating goodwill gestures, Taliban should also, says Sami

ISLAMABAD: Head of Taliban nominated committee, Molana Sami ul Haq has said that the Government is making goodwill gestures, Taliban will also be asked to demonstrate similar signs – ARY News reports.

After the meeting of Government-Taliban committees, chaired by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Molana Sami ul Haq told that both the committees expressed their satisfaction over the extension of ceasefire by Taliban and the meeting pondered upon steps to be taken as goodwill gestures between both the parties.

He stated that an atmosphere of trust has been developed to quite some extent and both the sides will be asked for permanent ceasefire as this atmosphere develops a step ahead.

Sami said that currently the matter of non-combatant prisoners is before the committees, Taliban will also be asked to demonstrate goodwill gestures towards the Government.

Meanwhile, member of Government team, Rustam Shah Mohmand told that a contact has been made with Taliban shuraa to decide on the venue of next round of talks.
