Gov't extends DG IB Aftab Sultan's tenure by a year

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has extended the tenure of Director General (DG) of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Aftab Sultan, by a year's period – ARY News reports.

According to sources, the Government of Pakistan extended the tenure of DG IB, Aftab Sultan by a year's period on Friday. The decision was made keeping in view the law and order situation of the country and for the continuity of betterment in it.

Sultan is a BPS-22 grade officer in the Police Service of Pakistan and officially reached the retirement age on Wednesday, April 2.

Here the ruling of the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan should also be kept in notice, which clearly stated that no official should be given extension beyond his entitled tenure after retirement.
