Gov't intended to increase produce from 3 to 6 pct: President Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain has said that the Government of Pakistan is intended to increase the overall produce of the country from 3 to 6 percent, whilst the foreign investment is also decided to be taken up to 20 percent, but for this, difficult economic decisions will have to be made – ARY News reports.

Addressing the second Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Conference on Saturday, President Mamnoon Hussain said that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his team, has taken a step in the right direction for the restoration of the economy of the state. He said that for this the Government is striving to build new dams, improve the infrastructure and overcoming the energy crisis.

The President stated that the Islamic countries can benefit from investing here in different projects, for which the Government of Pakistan is trying to make up proper atmosphere. He told that the investors will be given all possible facilities and security here.

Speaking about the trader fraternity of the country, Mamnoon Hussain said that the Government holds traders in high esteem. He continued further that growing cooperation between Pakistan and China will not only benefit the people and traders of both the states, but also the Central Asian and Middle Eastern states.

On this occasion, the Governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar also said that there are various opportunities for extending trade between Islamic states, and these countries can take advantage of such opportunities, for the sake of improving their economies.

Moreover, the President of Pakistan distributed commemorative shields among the Ambassadors of the Islamic states, at the end of the ceremony.
