Gov't should have kept a watch over Tharparkar issues: Hafiz Saeed
LAHORE: Ameer of Jamat ud Dawa (JuD), Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said that the Government should have kept a watch over the issues of Tharparkar. He stated that the JuD workers had already been carrying out relief activities there, before the news hit the media – ARY News reports.
Addressing a press conference here, Hafiz Saeed told that despite of limited resources JuD workers are providing edibles, clothing, medicines, tents and beds to the people of Tharparkar. He added that currently some 19 medical camps are operating in the drought-hit areas, where most of the patients are Hindu natives.
Saeed elaborated that his organization has never carried out welfare works based upon ethnic or linguistic grounds, which shows that it is against any kind of discrimination. He added that the areas where nothing can move except camels, there the JuD workers are transporting relief goods to people by loading it on their shoulders.
He urged all the social and welfare organizations to help out the affectees of Tharparkar from this difficult phase.
The JuD Chief suggested the Government to probe into Tharparkar issue and to take a strict action against the responsible officials of the administration. He also suggested not to make the issue political.
