Govt mandated to steer country out of crisis: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that nation had given mandate [to the government] to steer the country out of crisis, ARY News reported.

Addressing a ceremony of distribution of honorary cards among tax payersin Islamabad, the prime minister said change could not be brought about overnight; it requires hard slogging efforts, he added.

Sharif stressed that there was no room for unconstructive politics in the country. We did not ever attempt to topple any government, he claimed.

He said the electricity crisis was an old menace, however his government would strive to resolve it in their current tenure. “Fast pace work on various power projects is already underway.”

The PM informed that foreign reserves had reached $14 billion, while economic deficit had been brought down to 4%.
