KARACHI: MQM chief Altaf Hussain said the government must refrain from resorting to forceful means to stop protest rallies [in Islamabad and Rawalpindi], ARY News reported.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri-led Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) is taking out rallies today in Rawalpindi and other cities, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is holding public gathering at D-Chowk against what they term rigging in general elections on May 11 last year.
In a statement, MQM chief said government should demonstrate from its measures that it favoured sustainability of democracy.
He said leaders, either in opposition or government, must show tolerance and earnestness.
