ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government on Tuesday recovered Rs 530 million illegally sent abroad through its Assets Recovery Unit (ARU), ARY News reported.

Well informed sources told that the recovered amount of Rs 530 million has been deposited into the national exchequer while more recoveries are also on the cards in the near future.

“The amount has been recovered after tracing offshore properties and bank accounts”, the sources said.

It was learnt by ARY News that major recovery was done from Singapore’s off-shore accounts but due to some reasons, the details in this regard are not being made public.

It is pertinent to note here that, Prime Minister Imran Khan in his first address in the National Assembly after assuming charge of his office, had vowed to bring back the looted money.
