Gov’t serious in making peace talks successful, says Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given the task of imitating peace process between the Federal Government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) Maulana Sami-ul-Haq here on Tuesday, ARY News reports.

Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Sami-ul-Haq held a one on one meeting for 90 minutes. In the meeting, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq briefed the Premier over the back door dialogue with the outlawed militant group.

Nawaz Sharif said that the Government is serious in making the peace process successful and wants to bring all elements in the mainstream.

Maulana Sami-ul-Haq said that TTP will be contacted despite the problems and the Premier will be informed soon. He demanded that unannounced military operations should be stopped and compensation should be made for the damages in South Waziristan.

"Conductive atmosphere should be made to enhance the peace process with Taliban", he added.
