Gov't suggests Bannu, Taliban in favor of Makeen to be venue for peace talks

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has proposed Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for holding peace talks, whilst banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has suggested Makeen, South Waziristan to be the favorable place in this regard – ARY News reports.

According to details, a meeting of Government and Taliban nominated committees was held at the Punjab House here on Saturday, which was chaired by the Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, however the Chief of Taliban committee, Molana Sami ul Haq was not present over there.

During the meet, the Taliban-nominated committee presented demands by the banned outfit before the Government envoys, among which the foremost was the release of key Taliban leaders.

Meanwhile, Molana Sami ul Haq also issued a statement that Taliban have also accepted several demand of the Government and now there is no deadlock in the negotiations process.
