Govt, Taliban committees still to reach consensus on venue for talks
ISLAMABAD: The government and the Taliban have still not settled on a venue to hold peace talks, ARY News reported Monday.
Sources told that Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan was in direct contact with chief interlocutor Taliban committee, Maulana Samiul Haq and had a telephonic conversation with him many a times.
Taliban have been assured complete security for peace talks venue in Bannu by the governemnt, but the former still had some reservations on the location.
On the other side, the Taliban have proposed Miranshah, Waziristan for the venue.
Taliban committee leader Prof. Ibrahim said issue of direct talks between the government and the Taliban will soon resolve.
