TOP NEWS

PESHAWAR: Maulana Yousuf Shah, coordinator of Taliban-nominated committee for peace negotiations, said direct talks between the government and the Taliban will take place by 4th or 5th of the ongoing month, ARY News reported Friday.

“This time representatives from the government and the Taliban will directly sit before each other to mediate peace talks,” he informed.

Maulana said we had asked them to bring their draft proposals for consideration. It will be assessed which issue needs resolution first, he added.

While stressing the need to announce ceasefire, he said negotiations were not possible if ceasefire was not declared.

He added that the negotiations will take place by May 4 or 5 this month.
