ISLAMABAD: The negotiations between the Taliban shura (council) and the government committee for peace talks ended here at an undisclosed in Waziristan, ARY News reported Wednesday.
The government committee and the Taliban committee reached Peshawar some hours after leaving the Miranshah. The government committee will now apprise the Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan of the meeting developments. The interior minister will likely brief the media about the decisions made following peace talks.
The meeting discussed extension in ceasefire and release of prisoners.
According to sources, the Taliban shura have laid three demands before the government. They include; halting of drone attacks, end to military operation and announcement of time-frame for release of Taliban prisoners.
