Gov't team for peace talks meets PM Nawaz Sharif
ISLAMABAD: Government nominated team for peace talks has met the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and put forth its recommendations regarding an effective future strategy for negotiating with Taliban – ARY News reports.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reiterated that the restoration of durable and permanent peace is top priority of the Government, for which efforts will be continued at all the levels.
The meeting was attended by the Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, PM's Special Advisor, Irfan Siddiqui, Major (R) Muhammad Amir, Rustam Shah Mohmand and Raheemullah Yousufzai.
The meeting also analyzed the situation after a ceasefire by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as well as the incidents that took place in Islamabad and Khyber Agency.
The peace committee announced that the continuity of such incidents despite of a ceasefire, can be harmful for the dialogue process.
Sources told that the meeting decided to continue talks for the restoration of peace in state and also utilize all the options as per the circumstances.
