Gov't team to visit N Waziristan for holding talks with Taliban leaders

ISLAMABAD: The Government team for peace talks will be heading to North Waziristan tomorrow for holding dialogue with political council of Taliban – ARY News reports.

The venue of direct talks between the Government and Taliban has been decided, where the Government committee will directly meet the Taliban leaders.

Negotiations agenda includes the extension of ceasefire, release of Taliban prisoners and other relative affairs.

Meanwhile, renowned analyst, Haroon Rasheed has said that he does not foresee the negotiations process between the Government and Taliban to be successful completely.

Talking to ARY News, Haroon Rasheed said that the Government-Taliban dialogue does not seem to be successful completely. He predicted that Taliban will not agree upon reforming themselves.

Speaking about Pakistan Army's role in negotiations, Haroon stated that it is one of the superior most Government institutions and it cannot be included in talks with Taliban.
