Govt to provide modern equipment to police: Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD: Ensuring the provision of state of the art equipment to police, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi has said that the government will provide all possible resources to law enforcing agencies to maintain law and order.
Addressing a ceremony at Islamabad Police Lines on Monday, Shehryar Afridi said that police will be equipped with the modern equipment and weapons and hoped that police will ensure the protection of lives and properties of the people.
He paid homage to the martyrs of police and added that proposal of a special package will soon be presented to the Prime Minister Imran Khan in this regard.
The minister said Pakistan is a peace loving sovereign country and never accept any dictation keeping in view our national interest.
It is pertinent to mention here that Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi, on September 16, had said maintaining law and order situation in the country is among top priorities of the government.
Addressing passing out parade of the Frontier Constabulary in Shabqadar, he had said the security forces, including the FC and police, have rendered matchless sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
The minister had said Frontier Constabulary will be made exemplary force by giving them training on scientific lines.
He lauded the role of the FC for security of major sensitive installations in the country and its services in United Nations Peace keeping Missions.
