'Dr Qadri proved his political foresight by ending sit-in'

Addressing a press conference here, Ahsan Iqbal said the people of Pakistan have rejected the politics of sit-ins, which caused irreparable losses to the country and served as a reason for the postponement of the Chinese President’s visit to Islamabad.

He said that Dr Tahirul Qadri proved his political foresight and joined the political mainstream by ending the sit-in.

Speaking about the PTI chairman, the minister said Imran Khan had given no authority to his negotiations team, despite the government had fully empowered its committee.

He said that PM Nawaz Sharif signed some historic agreements during his recent visit and China will invest huge sums in 16400 MWs capacity of power projects in Pakistan.

Iqbal slammed Imran Khan and inquired who is he to level allegations on a friendly state like China, adding that the PTI chairman is misleading the nation by standing atop his container in Islamabad.

He also turned down Imran’s claim of a settlement between the government and PTI to induct ISI and MI officials in the commission to probe irregularities in last general election.

He said even if the ISI and MI officials are inducted in the commission, then tomorrow Imran Khan will also blame these institutions just the way he accused judiciary of electoral rigging.

Ahsan Iqbal claimed that Khan is afraid if the PMLN completed its development process, then the people are going to reject him in 2018.

He also elaborated that China will invest in Pakistan, from which all the provinces will be benefitted, while if the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could spare time from sit-ins, the prime minister will also take him along on foreign visits.

The Minister for Planning and Development said that some mega projects like motorway, railways and power projects having the capacity of 9000 MWs, will be accomplished by 2018, which will result in prospering the country a way further.
