HOLLYWOOD: “Gravity,” “American Hustle” and “12 Years a Slave”, the best reviewed movies of the year have been emerged as the three front runners when Oscar nominations, announced on Thursday, ARY News has learnt.
Gravity is a British-American 3D science-fiction, thriller, space, drama film; directed, co-written, co-produced and co-edited by Alfonso Cuarón, the film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts involved in the mid-orbit destruction of a space shuttle and their attempt to return to Earth.
American Hustle is a 2013 American crime comedy-drama film directed by David O. Russell, from a screenplay written by Eric Warren Singer and Russell, loosely based on the FBI ABSCAM operation of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
12 Years a Slave which also takes place in slavery-era America, and which through brilliant writing, directing and acting is the odds-on favorite to take best picture this year.
