Grenade attack on police mobile claims 5 policemen

KARACHI: At least 5 policemen were killed after unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade at a police mobile in Landhi area here on Saturday – ARY News reports.

According to details, unknown attackers targeted a police mobile which was there on security duty outside the house of Chief of Mahajir Qaumi Movement, Afaq Ahmed. As a consequence, 5 policemen were killed including an ASI.

Sources told that attackers also fired at the mobile after hurling the grenade.

Meanwhile, a heavy contingent of Rangers, police and rescue teams rushed to the site. Rescue members shifted the injured to Jinnah Hospital.

Rangers and police have cordoned off the site and collecting evidence from there.

Officials told that all of the deceased policemen belonged to the Sindh Reserve Police.
