GSP will drastically boost the textile export of country: Khurram Dastagir

ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Commerce and Textile Industry Engineer Khurram Dastagir said on Wednesday that with GSP status from European Parliament, Pakistan will be able to export duty free textile products to European countries, ARY News reported.

In a statement, Khurram Dastagir said that government is taking effective measures to get access for Pakistani products to the global market, whose positive outcomes have started coming.

The Minister revealed that GSP status will help Pakistan’s total export to rise by about 29 per cent while the textile export will get boost of about 38 per cent. He said that Pakistan will able to have duty free access of 6000 textile products to 27 European countries for 10 years.

Khurram Dastgir Khan said that biggest obstacle to increase exports of the country has been removed and directed traders to play their role to raise foreign exchange of the country.
