Gujranwala: City halts at President Mamnoon Hussain's arrival

GUJRANWALA: President Mamnoon Hussain's arrival here on Tuesday became a trouble for citizens as the roads were blocked, whilst more than 4000 students were also deprived of their academic activities due to the presidential address at a seminar – ARY News reports.

"Pakistan right now, is through the most difficult times and we all shall work together for its prosperity", these views were expressed by the President while addressing a seminar in memory of Wasif Ali Wasif.

He added that it is our responsibility to safeguard the homeland, which was found due to the untiring efforts of Quaid e Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices of thousands of Muslims.

On the other hand, due to the President's arrival in the city, not only all the roads were blocked, but the students were also given an off at the higher secondary institute where Mamnoon Hussain was to address the seminar.

The students kept wandering in different parks, whereas long queues of cars and other vehicles were observed at roads due to which a large number of citizens were gripped by severe panic.

Later, the President visited the house of Federal Minister of Commerce, Khurram Dastagir and met the former Federal Minister, Dastagir Khan.

Mamnoon Hussain exchanged views with the former Federal Minister and father of Khurram Dastagir, regarding the overall situation of the state.
