Hamid Mir records his statement to judicial commission
KARACHI: The Supreme Court (SC) Karachi Registry hear the proceedings of Hamid Mir Commission here on Friday, where senior journalist Hamid Mir also recorded his statement – ARY News reports.
According to details, Hamid Mir appeared before a three member bench headed by Justice Anwer Zaheer Jamali, under strict security of Police, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs). On this occasion, media men were not allowed to reach out to him. Mir recorded his statement before the commission formed to probe into the assassination attempt on him.
Earlier to this, the DG Rangers, IG Sindh, Chief Secretary Sindh and other concerned officials had recorded their statements to the judicial commission.
Moreover, the Hamid Mir Commission has also issued a public notice, under which any citizen can record his statement pertaining to the attack on senior journalist.
Earlier on April 19, senior journalist, Hamid Mir, was injured as a result of firing on his vehicle, at the Natha Khan bridge and was taken to a private hospital. Mir had reportedly sustained six bullet wounds, however, his condition improved gradually.
The incident had led to some serious conspiracy theories against the prime intelligence agency of Pakistan, Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and its Chief Lieutenant General, Zaheer ul Islam.
