Hamza Ali Abbasi has been known for his outbursts on social media and for offering his point of view on different topics. From criticizing Altaf Hussain severely, to openly supporting Imran Khan and criticizing item songs, Hamza has said it all. Recently, the actor took to his Facebook account and criticized brands for dictating artists.
To cut the long message short, the handsome actor (and social activist) voiced his dissent at the attitude of a brand (which was not named by him, thank god) . The brand pulled its endorsement from Abbasi, on account of his frequent political and social outbursts on Facebook. Hamza stated his resolve to keep on posting such statuses in the near future as well, since he believed that destiny was decreed by God and not mere brands.
Earlier, the Pyarey Afzal actor had also spoken out against item songs, when Ayesha Omar’s groovy song was doing the rounds on internet.
Hamza Ali Abbasi recently reached 2 million likes on his Facebook page. He will be seen in the upcoming movie Jawani Phir Nahi Aani. He had earlier resigned from PTI’s post of secretary culture as he felt the portfolio was not suited to him, on account of some of the scenes he shot in the film.
Way to go Hamza. Though most of his views might be debatable and wrong as well, the fact that a celebrity in Pakistan does not bow down to dictations from noteworthy brands, is commendable.
