Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has been known for making bold and often contradictory statements. Hamza Ali Abbasi will be seen in ARY Films’ upcoming project Jawani Phir Nahi Aani which also stars Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Vasay Chaudhry, Ayesha Khan and Ahmed Butt.
Hamza Ali Abbasi had handed in his resignation as secretary culture of PTI, after the film’s trailer had been released. Yesterday, the actor had shared a Facebook status in which he stated that he would not promote Jawani Phir Nahi Aani due to the fact that it contained two songs which were “very inappropriate and show indecent visuals”, according to Abbasi.
Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar also told Hamza Ali Abbasi to calm down and let the matter go.
CEO of ARY Digital Network, Jerjees Seja also responded to Hamza Ali Abbasi’s status and told him that though he respected his opinion, it was his suggestion that Hamza Ali Abbasi should not criticize his friends’ work.
Even actor Humayun Saeed refuted Hamza’s claims of not getting paid for the movie and stated that the actor will receive remuneration.
“He hasn’t asked me for the money, yes that’s true. But he is being paid. I don’t know if he has already received payment because I haven’t checked with the accounts department but he will be paid the amount stated on the contract he signed.” said Humayun Saeed, talking to a local newspaper.
Oddly enough though, despite all his ramblings, Hamza seemed to be present at a shoot for JPNA yesterday, according to a tweet shared by Ayesha Khan:-
