Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis, who played Harry’s loyal friend Neville Longbottom, has secretly married his American girlfriend in Italy.
The 28-year-old actor, told fans on Twitter, by joking he’d been forced to miss a concert to get hitched instead.
Matthew wrote: “Not only did I miss @ArcticMonkeys in LA but they were performing in Italy at the same time we were there and my wife made me get married instead. Fuming.”
He shared a photo of him and his beautiful bride Angela Jones alongside the tongue-in-cheek message.
Lewis had already amazed his fans with his transformation from a chubby, frightened but good-hearted Gryffindor wizard to a handsome actor.
Fans are going crazy about the announcement, ad many are not certain about their feelings as it is hard to believe that the student from the house of Gryffindor at Hogwarts is already married.
Many rushed to congratulate him, saying: “I’m so so happy for you! you both look so good together”.
Another added: “OMG congrats!! Forever broken hearted but so happy for you! Wishing you guys a lifetime happiness”. Someone else said: “What an elegant couple! Best wishes on your life together!”
Co-star Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley, sent his congratulations to the happy couple he said: “Look at you. Congratulations beauties”.
In a gushing post about his girlfriend last year, Matthew wrote: “After an indescribable two weeks my other half is heading back across the pond. She’s the best thing in my life and inspires me to do and be better every single day. This one’s for you, babe.”
TMZ reported the pair met at a Wizarding World event at Universal Studios in Orlando in January 2016, where Jones works as an events planner.
Lewis proposed a year later, just four months after her divorce from her first husband was finalised. Since appearing in the Potter films, Lewis has roles ‘Me Before You’ and show ‘Girlfriends’.
