Heatwave in India kills at least 1100

NEW DELHI: More than 1100 people across India lost their lives due to the prevailing heatwave in the country, ARY News reports.

According to Indian media, southern state of Andhra Pradesh was the most affected as 852 people lost their lives while 266 people were died in Telangana, Hyderabad.

Thirteen people died in West Bengal while 11 people lost their lives in the state of Orissa.

The roads and alleys of Deccan wore a deserted look after mercury went above 50 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, India’s meteorological department has instructed the citizens to stay inside and cover their heads with clothes.

They have also advised the citizens to take lots of fluids in order to avoid de-hydration.
