High level Chinese delegation arrives to review ongoing CPEC projects
According to the Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan, Ambassador Liu Guangyan, Special Representative of the Chinese Foreign Minister & Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, called on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs (SAPM), Syed Tariq Fatemi, today.
Ambassador Liu Guangyuan was accompanied by a twelve-member delegation, which included senior representatives of the Chinese government. The delegation will be visiting Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Gwadar to facilitate a coordinated effort towards completion of the ongoing projects of the CPEC.
During the meeting, SAPM underscored that Pakistan-China friendship enjoyed special and across-the-board support at all levels in both countries.
Emphasizing the importance of the CPEC in establishing greater connectivity and trade linkages in the region, the SAPM briefed the delegation on the measures taken by Pakistan to ensure safety and security of Chinese personnel working on related projects.
Ambassador Liu Guangyuan appreciated the cooperation extended by the Government of Pakistan towards the development of the CPEC and welcomed the progress made so far. He expressed hope that the project would not only benefit the peoples of both Pakistan and China, but also of the entire region.
