Hockey training camp to start from tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The training camp of the national senior hockey probables for preparation of the Asian Games scheduled to be held at Incheon, South Korea will commence from May 5, ARY News reported.

37 players have been selected for the training camp that will be held at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium, Islamabad.

According to Manager/ Head Coach Pakistan Hockey Team, Shahnaz Sheikh, the training is divided into two sessions. In first session players will get physical training while practice will be conducted in the second.

The team officials for the camp include Shahnaz Sheikh (Manager and Chief Coach), Nasir Ali, Muhammad Shafqat Coach, Syed Sameer Hussain, Syed Abuzar Umrao (Coaches), Dr. Asad Abbas (Team Doctor) and Adnan (Physiotherapist).

The Asian Games will be played from September 19 to October 4.

Following are the probables for the camp,

Full Backs:

Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Khalid, Abaad Ali, Abdul Sattar, Zahid Ullah and Asad Aziz. Halves: Rizwan Junior, Muhammad Tousiq, Rashid Mahmood, Fareed Ahmed, Tasawar Abbas, Usman Hanif, Muhammad Sohaib and Muhammad Bilal.

Forwards:

Waleed Hameed, Hammad, Ali Hussain, Shafqat Rasool, Abdul Haseem Khan, Ali Shan, M. Umar Bhutta, M. Rizwan Senior, Muhammad Dilber, Asfand Senior, Liaqat Rasool, Shah Jee, Asfar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shakeel Abbasi, Zeeshan Akram, Arslan Qadir and Khurram Shehzad.

Goalkeepers:

Imran Shah, Imran Butt, Mazhar Abbas, Adnan Shakoor and Muhammad Iqbal.
