KARACHI: In 45 suicide attacks across Pakistan last year 694 persons were killed, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) said in its report for Year 2013.

According to ARY News HRCP has termed the previous year worst for law and order in its report for 2013.

In 357 incidents of police encounters 50 policemen were killed and 99 were injured, the report said.

In the under review period 3218 persons were killed in incidents of violence in the port city of Karachi.

According to HRCP report the dead bodies of 129 missing persons were found in the year. Eleven journalists lost their lives in incidents of violence.

The Commission in its report said that more than 800 women committed suicide, while 869 women were slain in the name of honour.

The report commenting on the state of education in the country said that the government allocated lesser than two percent of the GDP for education in the country. Pakistan remained 180th with regard to literacy rate in 221 countries of the world.

Around 5.5 million children of school going age could not enrolled in schools, the report said.
