Hyderabad: 10 injured in clash between MQM and PSP workers

According to details, Hyderabad’s Hali Road area became a battlefield Thursday night when scores of MQM and PSP workers clashed at Pak Sarzameen Party’s flag hoisting ceremony. MQM and PSP workers came face to face with each other and the situation turned tense when MQM workers allegedly tore down posters of PSP chief Mustafa Kamal.

When Pak Sarzameen Party’s rally reached Bhai Khan Chowk, the situation escalated when MQM workers and Mustafa Kamal’s supporters started chanting slogans against each other. Very soon, activists from both sides started firing at each other which injured six people including a woman.

A heavy contingent of police personnel reached the area and took control of the situation. The clash between workers of both parties have also caused certain areas of Hyderabad to remain tense as press conferences were held by leaders of both parties, who accused the other side of initiating violence.

Representatives from Pak Sarzameen Party, led by Mustafa Kamal, have repeatedly targeted MQM chief Altaf Hussain and the rest of the party in their public statements and claimed that Mr Hussain is an agent of Indian intelligence agency RAW.

Yesterday MQM workers had clashed with Haqiqi workers near Landhi police station in which a person was injured.
