IAs issue alert fearing a terrorist attack in twin cities

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Intelligence agencies (IAs) on Tuesday issued an alert regarding a possible terrorist attack in Rawalpindi/Islamabad by the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), ARY News reported.

IAs issued an alert on Tuesday evening that the banned outfit, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan is up for waging a major attack in Rawalpindi/Islamabad and for this purpose an explosives-laden truck is already enroute to Islamabad from Karachi.

The registration number of the above said truck was reported to be “AKA-707” and it is being driven by a man named, Hafiz Ahmed.

IAs also informed the Ministry of Interior regarding the terrorism threat and recommended it to beef up security across the twin cities.
